These sites are useful for finding MEDICAL information on the Web and/or

Doctor's Guide to the Internet

This site lists medical resources on the Internet specifically for the
physician. Information on conferences, new drugs, and new Web sites of
interest are available, as well as a virtual medical bookstore.

Health On the Net Foundation

MedHunt, Health on the Net [HON]'s search engine, lists reviewed sites
(when available). Topics may be searched by keyword.

Health A-to-Z

This search engine includes site reviews, an indication of the level of
the site (professional- or consumer-oriented) and arrangement by broad
categories.

Medical World Search

The site allows the user to search for a topic among "major medical websites,"
the National Library of Medicine's PubMed interface to MEDLINE, or commercial
web search engines. A useful place to start a comprehensive search for
medical information.

American Hospital Directory

Comparative statistics and information is available for most hospitals
in the U.S. Hospitals can be searched by region or city. Information includes
# of beds, contact information, services provided, etc.

Here are links to MEDLINE, the National
Library of Medicine's index to medical literature. MEDLINE is available
through most medical meta-sites, commercial vendors, and other venues.
Although the database the same, the different modes of accessing MEDLINE
may offer widely varying features and ease of use.

Internet Grateful Med

In addition to MEDLINE, HealthSTAR, PREMEDLINE, and AIDSLINE, this version
of Internet Grateful Med (IGM) offers free access to several other NLM
databases. Brief descriptions of available databases are available.

PhyNet features a search tool for CME by date, location and topic; a catalog

and other useful resources.

consumer health magazines and a "wellness center" are free. Online CME
and medical database access are among services available for a fee.

Medconnect offers a wide variety of resources, including free online CME

required, but the site's services are free.

Association's Web-based directory of physicians.
CMANET CADoctor Finder: The
California Medical Association state medical association directory.
AAO Find an Ophthalmologis-USA:
The American Academy of Ophthalmology Membership directory. Searching can
be by country and city, by name, and by condition. The profile includes
the physician's name, practice focus, certification and year, current professional
activity, teaching position, hospital privileges, education and residency
information and residency information and dates, and office locations and
phone number(s).
USC CARE:
USC Physician database can be searched by name or clinical office location.
The physician's name is a hypertext link to a profile page that is creted
on-the-fly.
MedSeek: MedSeek manages listings
for over 280,000 physicians nationwide. The physician's name is a hypertext
link to a basic listing with name, specialty, address and phone number,
and e-mail address provided. The portfolio gives additional information
about the scope of practice, specialty procedures, office information,
physician's vitae, a scanned color photograph, and more. The basic listing
is free, but enhancements are fee-based.
